Phoenix Suns History

As Arizona's original professional sports franchise, the Phoenix Suns were established in the NBA in 1968 and for the last 30 years have been entertaining fans in downtown Phoenix at PHX Arena. The rich history of the franchise includes some of most memorable teams in NBA history, including the 1975–76 "Sunderella Suns," the 1992–93 team that featured Charles Barkley and reached the NBA Finals, and the "Seven Seconds or Less" era teams, during which Steve Nash was twice named the league's MVP.

Enshrined in the Suns’ Ring of Honor are Alvan Adams, Barkley, Tom Chambers, Jerry Colangelo, Walter Davis, Cotton Fitzsimmons, Connie Hawkins, Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Al McCoy, John MacLeod, Nash, Joe Proski, Dick Van Arsdale and Paul Westphal.

The Phoenix Suns had a successful 2020–21 season, winning the Western Conference and narrowly falling in the NBA Finals to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Suns ended the 2021–2022 season with a franchise record of 64 wins and finished with the NBA's best record by eight games above the second best, the league's largest differential in 22 years. They also made back-to-back appearances in the Western Conference semifinals in 2022 and 2023.

  • Amazing

I want to say, that the Suns and the Rockets on March 30th, 2025, was one of the best experiences yet this year. The seating was excellent. And the parking was comfortable and close to the arena. There's nothing more enjoying and entertaining than being at a live sporting event.

  • Felt Bad

by Junya on 3/29/25PHX Arena (formerly Footprint Center) - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

Watching my hometown Celtics dominate my new hometown Suns was embarrassing. Hearing more fans and seeing more fans (myself included) cheering for Celtics made me sad for the Suns. I hope they figure this out.

Saw the Suns vs Bucks, was fun. The last 10 seconds were a nail biter! Beer $17 was too much though- same at most venues these days- so stop for a beer before you enter!

  • Spread the love to the upper decks!

by Casual fan on 2/11/25Footprint Center - PhoenixRating: 4 out of 5

The game and entertainment was awesome! There were about 10 giveaways and none of them made it to the upper level, very unfair as there are tons of kids and new fans up there.
