Maxwell is an American singer, songwriter and record producer. Composing music since he was just 17, the Brooklyn native’s discography is a sprawling testament to his musical prowess. At 23, his debut record, 1996’s Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite, earned him a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album and eventually hit double platinum status. Since then, Maxwell has been credited — along with Lauryn Hill, D'Angelo and Erykah Badu — with ushering in the neo-soul movement and its sensibilities into mainstream popular music during the late 1990s. Over the course of his career, Maxwell has won three Grammy Awards, six Soul Train Music Awards and two NAACP Image Awards, in addition to having multiple Billboard Hot 100 and 200 charting tracks. He was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and Congressional Black Caucus in 2019 for "his innovative contributions to the music industry as a singer, songwriter, and producer."

He really did well im especially proud of the band
He is an amazing performer! This was my first time seeing him and will NOT be my last. The venue, Peoria Civic Center was horrible as usual but Maxwell...outstanding!
They started 1 hour late. Then Maxwell came out a hour after the first and only performs.
Maxwell was excellent!! His stage presence was so personable. His voice was strong and he put on a great show. Marsha Ambrosiuos was his opening act and she was amazing. Definitely enjoyed myself!!
We could get into that venue until 6:30 pm when the show was supposed to start at 7. Then we weren’t allowed to get to our seats close to almost 8. Marsha Ambrosius was fantastic and put on a great show. Then Maxwell didn’t come out till almost 10. The gap between performances was ridiculous and tiring. Maxwell had a great show but felt like he was rushed don’t know if it was due to what time the venue is open. Overall the shows were great but time needs to be managed better.
This was such a vibe! My family and I had a ball! We dance and sang and the entire time. Maxwell is amazing and so fun to watch!
Marsha and Maxwell perform a good concert BUT need to have a better DJ and some other performance in between of waiting after Marsha perform( it was over an hour wait). Also consider the temperature it was very cold in there even Maxwell was cold.
Maxwell on a scale of 1-10 100. Now the venue. Why did we have to stand in the hallway not allowed to go to our seats because the band hadn’t practiced? Should have already been done. Why was there no mic checks? Again should have already been done. If two of the artists failed to show you should have simply allowed Marsha to come back out and hold it down until Maxwell got there not making us wait and simply playing music with no explanation as to why. The seats were great very nice view. I’m really glad and amazed I was able to get handicap seats. Overall it was an amazing experience my wife had the time of her life so despite everything listed above it was amazing. I was fine able to surprise my wife to a Maxwell concert so job well done. Job well done. Thank you so very much.
Doors were supposed to open at 6 PM. Doors didn't open till closer to 8 PM. Crowds were just stuck standing around buying overpriced vending. Marsha started late even after people we were allowed in and only played 30 minutes. Another hour wait for Maxwell to start eventhough the stage transition was done quickly. Both acts were talented but the delays on a Friday where people were already tired from the work week was a slap in the face to their money and unprofessional. I saw grown adults sleeping in their chairs during Maxwell's show. The entire ordeal was exhausting and not a pleasureable experience.
Great show. Upbeat and lively. His Band is always Great. He performed all the CLASSICS!! Great Show.
