About

Megadeth are a thrash metal band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine, Megadeth have sold over 50 million records worldwide across 16 studio albums, received 13 Grammy nominations with one win and have been recognized as a member of the “Big Four” bands credited with establishing the American thrash metal genre along with Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer. Following the group’s 1985 debut Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!, Megadeth released five consecutive platinum albums including 1992’s Countdown to Extinction, which hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200 behind their Hot 100-charting single “Symphony of Destruction.” The group hit their highest chart placements since 1994’s Youthanasia with 2016’s Dystopia and 2022’s The Sick, The Dying... And The Dead!, which both debuted at No. 3 while the former’s title track netted Megadeth their first Grammy for Best Metal Performance.

  • Awesome

Totally amazing, a wonderful show, a great venue. MegaDeth at their best, top caliber show, a real bang for the buck. A show well worth the price in this economy. Sold Out opening show, EndGame tour start in Michigan, and a meet and great CD signing; all first for any MegaDeth tour. Second MegaDeth show, if they come back to mid-Michigan again, I plan to be there. Thank you

Arcanium : I'd never heard of this band before, but they weren't too bad. Worth the watch. Suicide Silence : These guys had good style, but I really didn't care for their music. It also didn't help that the rhythm guitarist was cussing at the crowd because not a whole lot of people knew who they were. They weren't bad, just nothing for me. Machine Head : This was one of the bands I was looking forward to seeing. And unsurprisingly, they killed it. The crowd was going absolutely nuts when they were out there. They played in their A game that night. I would definitely go see them again. Megadeth - This was the most intense part of the show. They played a definite thrash setlist including some older songs from "Killing is my Business...And Business is Good!" and "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?", while also showcasing some stuff from the new "Endgame" album. This show was absolutely epic. Any thrash fan would appreciate it.

  • Megadeth is amazing

Megadeth was amazing. Dave and chris are just amazing guitar players. I enjoyed every minute of their peformance. My friend waited in line and got an autograph and got to meet Dave. I am pretty sure that was a really big deal for him. I would have waited too but I had to go. Only reason I give this event 4 stars is because I did not care for the other bands that played before megadeth. I dont care for the scream constantly whilst playing generic music thing.

  • megadeth killed!!!!!

This was the 8th time I saw Megadeth. They have not disappointed me yet. They seem to be playing very well. The new guitar player fits perfectly. It was a great show from beginning to end. After megadeth played, Dave Mustaine signed everyone's cd who bought one at the show. Even though I bought the cd the day it came out, I bought another one. Dave was really cool. He shook my hand and you can tell he cares about us, the fans. This show was an A +.

Megadeth made all the other bands forgettable and what lasted over an hour and a half seemed too short.

After just seeing an incredible Metallica show less than one week ago at VanAndel I was primed for Megadeth. Got in just in time for Machinehead. I am an old eighties hairband guy so I am not familiar with most of the newer heavy bands. Machinehead sounded like every other one I have heard, grunt n growl with a few riffs. Didn't do anything for me. Megadeth on the other hand sounded great! Dave was his usual self, in fine form. As it seems to be the norm now Dave had an entire new band making up Megadeth. All were fine musicians. They played everything I needed to hear. All in all a great show as they opened up the tour in Grand Rapids. One note I must make was the sound quality. Although it was ok I have heard much better in The Orbit Room and from Megadeth as well. Sound was muddy. Dave's vocals and both lead guitars were too low in the mix and were muffled. Playing was steller though. I have heard from a few sources that this is supposed to be the last Megadeth disc? Let's hope not.

Even though you have to sit through some crappy openers like Arcanium and Suicide Silence, Machine Head gets you ready for the one of the best thrash metal bands in the world. Megadeth was ready to shred when they got on stage and didn't take their foot off the pedal. This was the third time that I have seen them and this had to be the best show that I seen them do. Chris Boderick live up to his expectations to make people forget all of the past guitar players with very tight solos that make you think that your listening to the album. I would definately reccommend this concert to anyone that loves metal. Metallica who? Megadeth is way better.

  • Megadeth was fierce and right-on!!!!

by Lucretia on 11/15/09Orbit Room - Grand RapidsRating: 5 out of 5

Megadeth played some classic older songs from Peace Sells .. But Who's Buying? They sounded great and were really into it. The crowd was also really into it. I wish the guitars' volume was a little bit higher and the vocals too. However, Megadeth kicked ass throughout their setlist and did not take any prisoners. I arrived to the venue around 9pm because I was really only interested in seeing Megadeth but they actually started at 9:35pm. Overall, great show. I am not from the area so I had a very hard time finding the venue. The address is wrong or my GPS is wrong. The venue is actually near the Best Buy in that mall area.

  • Oh Canada,Calgary was an awesome show!

Never Forget this concert;worth ALL the time,Effort,& $ I went through to see it.Would do it Again Tomorrow.Crowd was Enthusiastic,SLAYER was the highlight of the evening;I almost caught one of the drumsticks Dave Lombardo threw in my direction(My BIGGEST Disappointment that night)It was like a Religious Experience, seeing them Twice in one Week!Saw Slayer 5 days earlier in Spokane,WA.,& they were as AWESOME Mon. as they were Sat.;Kudos to Megadeth for having the Kahones to follow a Thrash Legend like Slayer.Having seen them a few times before,I kinda knew what to expect;they had some tech. problems but carried the show w/style&ease.Didn't see the opening band;Machine Head was OK,but judging from the Tees I observed-the majority of the concertgoers were there to see SLAYER&Megadeth. They could make a cottage industry out of touring together,hint,hint-

  • great show

three great bands, and one sub par band. Slayer put on their usual good showing, and for the first time seeing megadeth i was impressed, they did a great set. and as for the opening bands, Machine head was wicked, and sucide silence was pretty weak, the second they had anything going for them in a song where it sounded good they changed the pace and the singer started doing a really lame screamo thing and failing horribly at it.
