About

Comprised of Ryan Guldemond (vocals, guitar), Molly Guldemond (vocals, keys), Jasmin Parkin (vocals, keys), Ali Siadat (drums) and Mike Young (bass), Mother Mother are best known for their deep connection with their fans, and for bringing stadium-sized energy to their live show, no matter the stage.  Singing about themes of alienation and enormous longing for self and societal acceptance, the band's mission is to be a home for souls that feel they don't fit in anywhere else.

Mother Mother were recently catapulted into a new stratosphere of universal success following the release of their critically acclaimed studio album INSIDE.  Their explosive follow-up to "Hayloft," "Hayloft II" connected with fans around the world and is now certified Gold in the US and approaching Platinum in their home country of Canada. A string of #1 radio hits in Canada, 6 billion global streams, and multiple Billboard chart appearances cement their newfound global success.

The quintet spent most of the last year touring the world playing to sold-out audiences in theaters to stadiums, with multiple sold-out headline tours in Europe, UK, Canada, Australia and the U.S. as well as past and upcoming festival plays at Reading + Leeds, Lollapalooza in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Berlin, Corona Capital in Mexico, Pukkelpop Belgium, Frequency Festival in Austria, Lowlands in The Netherlands and more.

  • Mother Mother was Everything I Dreamed of and More

by AmyMM on 11/19/14The Danforth Music Hall - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

They all have amazing stage presence. They all proved their talents are very much real. You always wonder if your favourite band will stand up to the test when you see them live. Well, Mother Mother surpassed my hopes and expectations by a long shot! They're just so talented, it's unreal. I loved that they also played a bunch of "vintage" tunes as well as the new stuff. It was a truly awesome experience overall!

Easily one of the best concerts I've been to; Mother Mother has amazing stage presence and is always incredible live. The fact that their music is so raw a lot of the time lends itself to concert format, and it showed in the quality of the music they played, which arguably was better than the same songs on CD. USS was apparently supposed to be there, but they didn't show- I don't personally think the concert was worse for it to tell the truth.

  • Mother Mother is always awesome.

Great show, a bit short. Opening act Dustin Bentall and the Smøkes was new to me, and the violinist was amazing! Mother Mother is always a fantastic performance and they did not disappoint, although for a headline set it seemed awfully short.

  • Mother mother was the best concert I've been to

  • Best night of my life!

by Laurenmeows on 3/25/13Sherman Theater - StroudsburgRating: 5 out of 5

Mother Mother did a FLAWLESS opening performance for awolnation. I got chills with every song they played.. I loved how the last song they played was Hayloft, I'm sure they picked up hundreds of new fans that night!!! Also, every single band memeber was out at the merchandise table after their performance, they were all so friendly and personal with their fans it was AWESOMEEEEE!! The members are as beautiful as their music. The lead singer, Ryan, looked and sounded great. The girls looked so pretty too! Jasmin went crazy dancing on stage, she gets into her music so much she looks like she's in her own little world sometimes; it's awesome. And Ali, the drummer, was soooo nice! He was really chill and talked to us a lot. I got some great pictures, signed merchandise, and unforgettable memories now(: best concert ever.

  • Fun show cozy venue

by RennyPenny on 1/15/12The Gateway (SAIT) - CalgaryRating: 4 out of 5

Opening band Maurice was sweet and Mother Mother feels great to listen to live. The set was a bit short from Mother Mother.

  • Excellent

Awesome venue and atmosphere, excellent performance, once again, by Mother Mother.

  • by jdancer189 on 9/19/11Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

I really didn't care for Mother Mother. I was there for the band Sweet Thing, who were amazing as always. Everyone kept telling me Mother Mother was so good but I didn't think they were anything special. Even the first opening act Whale Tooth was better than Mother Mother.

  • one of the best concerts i've gone to

by Smede on 9/19/11Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Well. ill go through the bands seperatley then the concert as a whole. Whale Tooth : this was the first opening band, and they were pretty good. I think the best thing about the band was they had great choreography. They sounded pretty good as well. if i were to have just heard them on cd though, nothing too exciting. Sweet Thing : let me put it simple. if mother mother would not have played after this band, i would understand. These guys were beyond amazing. not only did their music sound flawless, but the lead singer was by and far a generic "heart throb" He stole the hearts of every female there, and hell, probably half the males. His skills up on stage were unremarkable. I would go to see them again were they to become a main act, which i don't doubt they will :] Mother Mother : Truthfully, after sweet thing they had a lot to live up to! but they reached it :] they hit everything perfectly, and sounded really good. though they did play "The Stand" really early while sound was still getting worked out which i thought was a flaw.

  • Really great, BUT TOO MANY OPENERS

by Micagneiss on 9/19/11Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Mother Mother was amazing. However, waiting until 11 pm for a show that supposedly started at 8 really put a damper on things. We weren't let in until 8 pm, the first opener didn't start until 9. That was fine, but two openers is too many. I was very tired in the crowd by the time Mother Mother got on the stage. I think that only one opener should be booked, because the second opener played about as long as Mother Mother did, and had they been left out of the equation, Mother Mother could have played twice as long.

  • by Anonymous on 4/19/11The Studio - HamiltonRating: 4 out of 5

The band, as usual, demonstrated their excellent musicianship and superior harmonizing. Sound could have been better. Also, this couple high on something dancing near the front of the front of the stage elbowing people in the head kinda put a damper on things.

  • Mother Mothers Day celebration

by Hardguitar on 4/18/11The Studio - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

The two opening acts deserve mention. Kidstreet, a trio from Waterloo, warmed up the audience with their electronica. Whale Tooth, a Toronto based band, built on the crowds enthusiasm. Elise LeGrow's vocals shone and added punch to the solid material that for many in the crowd was a first taste. Looking forward to the album release. Mother Mother impressed everyone. If I wasn't the oldest, then I was second, and could not help but smile everytime they sang in that perfect harmony. I was very surpised to see that many of the vocals that I thought were the girls was actually Ryan on stage. The music is infectious. From the crowd response you could tell that the songs from O My Heart were more familiar as was The Stand - the latest single. They played nearly 2 hours and no one went home unsatisfied. Now if I could just get that song to stop playing in my head

  • Mother Mother concert was awesome!

by Smileyeyes on 4/18/11The Studio - HamiltonRating: 5 out of 5

Sound was perfect, venue was small and intimate, bands all played on time, and the music was excellent! The crowd was lively and active, with no problems. We were singing and dancing and enjoyed oursleves immensely. Love that the bands were all very engaging with the audience members.
