  • Somewhat entertaining

by DawnT on 10/18/21Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

The show itself was fairly entertaining. The performance was supposed to start at 8:00pm, but there was still a line outside at that time. The show didn’t actually start until 8:45. The orchestra danced onto the stage and took another 10 minutes to play a note. At times it felt like they were rehearsing instead of being a cohesive unit. Most of the show was in sync and entertaining. They played several old school pieces and a few modern ones. The Maestro, who I thought was a true conductor is really a hype man. A funny person, but still a hype man. I enjoyed the sax and violin battles. The musicians are very talented and seem to love what they do. Overall I enjoyed it but they need to work out a few kinks. It was also my birthday so I was determined to have a great time!

  • Great concert. Sound check should have been better.

When the concert started and sometimes throughout the concert, there was feedback with the sound system, which took away from the concert. Musicians were awesome.

This event has the potential to grow big! There was a mishap with sound engineering, but it was a good show. Since it was in Atlanta, should have been more Atl bred artists. Consider artists of that state when in that state. I think it would have been super fun to be After 5 dress listening to an orchestra. It was great show!

  • Spectacular

It was a wonderful show. All the songs had the crowd going crazy. The maestro was engaging and funny. I took my wife and it was a great date choice. She has been talking about it every since. I will definitely go see this show again.

  • Orchestra Noir was great and so was the audience.

by Disappointed on 8/23/21The Charleston Music Hall - CharlestonRating: 5 out of 5

First half R&B with old favorites that every audience member knew all the words. Second half, Hop Hop. That’s when the PARTY started. First song, “This is how we do it”, and they did. Great band!

  • People walked out of the adult recital....

by Tuneyourinstrament on 1/30/18Paris on Ponce - AtlantaRating: 1 out of 5

Whoever wrote those "great" reviews must be apart of the crew because that show was highly disorganized and dissapointing. The quartet was out of tune and the trumpeter could not hit his notes. And after struggling to hit the notes, instead of keeping it moving like a true performer, he proceeds to make excuses about the temperature in the room. The show has no cohesiveness and no story. They really need to go back to the drawing board. People were literally getting up and leaving in the middle of the "show". Heres a suggestion. Create a fluid story for the music so it doesn't feel like an adult recital. For $80 I was expecting at least quality musicians. I was so excited because it sounded like it would be a show filled with both classical and modern music integrated into a beautiful new sound. Instead we get a host/owner who "studied music" but somehow doesn't know what music arrangement means. The musicians are tone deaf and have no stage presence. The "open bar" was cheap publix wine and cut up crossaintwiches......really? Waist of a masquerade mask....

  • Disorganized

by Khady on 11/28/17Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5

The show was very disorgamized. Not very well put together, it appears like it was put together last minute. A lot of buying time as if some acts were missing and they had to fill in the gaps. Did not believe the fashion show fit in with the title of the show. The equipment in the back round while the fashion show was gingvwas a eye soar... the main guest appearances were good.

  • What a show

by BklynBob on 11/28/17Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 4 out of 5

Orchestra Noir was not what I expected. I thought it would be a reserved performance. What I got was a surprise. In the first half an excellent classical music from the orchestra and a very congenial maestro paired with a fashion show of 3 of Atlanta's designers; in the second half excellent r&b and pop music from the orchestra with a hip maestro (same guy). Very entertaining..

  • A Night At The Symphony

    by ATL770 on 4/4/17Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

This 1st half was absolutely amazing. The orchestra was perfectly centered on the ground level of the venue and sounded great; additionally the guest soloist was also amazing. Intergrating the youth into the show was perfect. It allow the audience to learn about the program they are involved in and to witness their talents. The 2nd half was absolute chaos! The orchestra was moved to the stage and because of the distance, the sounded like a high school band. It seemed control of the event was TOTALLY lost. The orchestra barely played the 2nd half of the show, the distraction of the the "dancers" and cursing from the DJ took the show from a 10+ to a 2 within 10 minutes. I HAD great hopes and expectations to continue to support Orchestra Noir, but after feeling I wasted half my money, I wouldn't recommend the performance to my friends as the 2nd half was a huge disappointment. 1 or 2 "battles with the DJ would've been fine, but NOT THE ENTIRE 2nd piece. We left after we could take no more. The male usher that kept his hat on the entire time (seemed to be a family member or someone VERY close to the production team) was rude, not welcoming and kept walking on the main floor squeezing between the orchestra and the railing. It was very distracting.
