Best concert ever!! Absolutely magical. Can hardly wait to see him again.
Patrick Watson and his band were wonderful. However, the venue had drawbacks and the preshow act was not enjoyable , very hard to hear and see. The screens at the venue were small with poor quality sound. The venue was all standing room and very packed. Patrons were standing for 2.5 for 3 hours with almost no space to move around. I would love to see Patrick Watson in a more comfortable and engaging venue.
Patrick Watson and the musicians he brings are always exceptionnel. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He sounds absolutely magical live. The concert itself was so touching, almost intimate, like a little secret shared among the present. Patrick is so funny and down to earth, had no problem connecting with the crowd and the whole evening it just felt like we were hanging out with him. Overall it was a very special night.
I love Patrick Watson’s music and was excited to see him live. The last-minute opener (Lisa Leblanc) ended up being easily the best part of the show, she was great! I never heard of her before so at least something came of the concert. Patrick’s sound levels were really off, hard to hear especially in quieter songs. Melody Noir, my favorite, was pretty much inaudible as none of the acoustic instruments were properly picked up be the sound system. The low lighting, scrims and production were distracting and made it hard to see literally anything or take photos/videos even at a good distance. This was oddly refreshing as people just gave ip trying so it was like a concert back in the day, hardly any phones out as there was no point. It was so jam-packed and unpleasant, with so little acoustic or visual payoff that my partner and I went to sit in the MTelus bar about 40 minutes in to catch what we could on the love feed. I’ve never seen the lounge bar so busy during a show, many others clearly were equally unimpressed. The video feed was similarly underwhelming as the production just wasn’t optimized for sound or visuals either for the live audience or for watching from backstage. We saw several people leave early and eventually we did as well. Worst concert I’ve ever been to, and it’s such a pity. I don’t know why it was so poorly designed. I know it was night 1 of 4 at Mtelus so maybe they had to make some tweaks, but it was pretty pointless being there. Like trying yo watch a bunch of talented musicians jam in their garage from way too far away to hear or see anything at all. I’ve seen many shows at Mtelus and never experienced one this bad. Honestly it’s the first time I feel like asking for my money back (I won’t obviously), because I don’t feel like I actually got to see the artist perform at all, it was that poorly produced.
wanted to see them for a few years now and it was a standout show. everything about it, the music, the banter, the visuals, the pacing, the venue. 10/10 bravo
The venue opened the doors about 30 min after the announced start of the concert and the music did start almost one hour late. Even when it started there were two un announced opening acts which delayed the start of Patrick's performance even further. The concert was supposed to start at 7 but did Patrick did not get on stage until 8:55.
I had heard that Patrick Watsons performances were something to behold, but it is one thing to hear of it and maybe watch a clip, but an entirely different experience to witness it first hand. Every single thing was well thought out and a pure collaboration; every visual, sound and vibration giving movement and emotion. It would move anyone to a place of happiness and piece. I left the show that night feeling like a brand new person with a new perspective. Absolutley bottling every bit of memory gathered from this show for years to come 💗🙏🏻💐
I have easily seen at least 100 live music shows through the my years and I am willing to say that this show was magical. First time seeing Patrick Watson and he surpassed all expectations, my first time at Levon Helm Studio which was magical & intimate, never saw La Force (Ariel Engle) who’s voice is like an angel and then there was his band - unreal!!! I will never pass up an oppty to see Mr Watson - who is quirky & a musical genius; he’s easily in my top 10 to see LIVE!! Absolutely amazing
