World class guitarist, rather small venue (500 people) the last time I saw him was at the sold out Capital Center. Robin hasn’t lost his touch, great show.
The artist was phenomenal. He exceeded expectations! The Birchmere is your perfect smaller venue for a great evening of entertainment.
I thought I might not make the show as I was stuck in traffic on I-95 (apparently a bus caught on fire). However, I made it with only minutes to spare, was able to find nearby parking, and get a beer before Robin came out. He was only a few days away from his 80th birthday but this guy rocked! I saw him once in the 1980's and he's still as sharp and good today as he was then.
Highly energetic and well done. I'm a bigger than ever
If you ever get a chance to see Robin Trower in your lifetime, DO IT. What an amazing musician, and he's perfected his craft. I've seen a ton of great guitarists in my 59 years on earth (Van Halen, Gary Moore, SRV, etc), and Trower is up there with the very best. Excellent show, and he's looking like he's having the time of his life. Smiling, thanking the crowd, just an overall great experience. Thanks Robin for hanging in there, because for a man that's 80 years old.... You still got it!
I've seen Trower at least 8-9 times, as far back as 1974. While this concert could've been a few minutes longer, I don't think I've seen RT in better form. He threw in some newer songs to go along with the Bridge of Sighs classics. No frills, no showmanship, just great music from one of rock's all time great guitarists.
Trower is still AMAZING! And The Birchmere is one of our favorite places to see a concert!
After about fifty years listening to his LPs I finally got to see Robin Trower. Added plus- I saw him at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA, a small music venue. It was worth the wait. I can’t believe that anyone can work a guitar as well as he does.
The Walker Theater in Chattanooga is a great venue. Robin Trower is a master and you could tell his band were having a lot of fun.
