About

That they are still roaring and soaring should be no surprise. That's just how they are built. TESLA may have been born in the mid 80s, but their bluesy, soulful sound is strongly embedded in the roots of organic, authentic, 1970s rock and roll. The same roots that produced bands like The Allman Brothers, Grand Funk Railroad, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Aerosmith.

The ground started shaking in Sacramento, CA, in 1984; gold country that would soon be producing some platinum. They started out as City Kidd, until a suggested name change to TESLA, honoring the eccentric inventor Nikola Tesla who pioneered all things electrical. Their 1986 platinum debut album, Mechanical Resonance, included Top 40 hits "Modern Day Cowboy" and "Little Suzi." 1989's double-platinum The Great Radio Controversy included hits "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)" and "Love Song". Suddenly, TESLA, who had been touring with bands such as Def Leppard and David Lee Roth, earned headlining status. In 1990, TESLA helped reshape the face of modern rock music by stripping down to the Five Man Acoustical Jam, an informal collection of their biggest hits peppered with rock and roll classics by the Beatles, Stones, and others. This album produced their biggest hit single to date, a cover of Five Man Electrical Band's "Signs." Other 90s albums from Tesla include platinum selling Psychotic Supper and Bust a Nut. The band continues to record and release material including 9 new albums since 2000 and recently debuted their new single, "Time To Rock!"

TESLA has endured many of the same taste-changing challenges that affected many in the post-grunge world, but through it all, their blue-collar work ethic and dedication to the faithful fan base has helped them not just survive, but thrive. TESLA's legacy is alive and well as they continue to record and sellout venues all over the world. As comfortable, rugged, and dependable as your favorite pair of boots, they endure. TESLA is a celebration of the greatest spirits of rock and roll.

  • Band great, venue terrible

by Tate24 on 6/27/25Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds New Buffalo - New BuffaloRating: 2 out of 5

I purchased 3rd row center tickets at over $300 a piece. When the concert started people with $50 tickets just walked down the aisle and stood in our area spilling beer and ruining our great seats. I told an usher but they did not do anything about it. I should have just purchased the cheap seats and made my way up front. Tesla was top notch and did not disappoint.

I had third row center seats. I've been a Tesla fan since the 80's. Seen them 4 times , they always put on a fantastic show. They sound as good as back in the day.

  • Tesla was awesome!

My wife and I saw Tesla in the early ‘90s. They were awesome back then, but they are even better now! We took our teenage daughter to see them and she has a new favorite band! Jeff’s vocals are still the best ever! How does he do it after all these years? The musicianship was beyond words. Tesla live sounds just like their albums. Fantastic stage presence by all the members. Thanks for such a fun evening, Tesla! Hopefully, we’ll get to see you again soon!

  • Great concert.

The concert was excellent! Tesla put on an awesome show and they played for almost 2 hours with no break and no opening act. The casino venue is a great venue for concerts. It’s decent size but not overwhelmingly big and they have a good sound system. I really enjoy going to concerts at this venue.

  • Great solid set, sounding amazing

1 hour 43 minutes sounding great. Excellent guitar work. Solid vocals. Bottom was on. Great show. 39 years and going strong. Worth seeing if you’re a fan.

  • Tesla Rocks as Always!!!

by Jason on 6/23/25Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds New Buffalo - New BuffaloRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great, the only misstep was the merch... they had the wrong state printed on all of the shirts. So $40 for a shirt and they didn't even double check it. Not personally the band members faults, but come on guys!!

  • Took my friend that was here from Florida

by KC on 6/23/25Silver Creek Event Center at Four Winds New Buffalo - New BuffaloRating: 3 out of 5

Fun concert, but spent $80 for our shirts ...all to discover that there was a typo. They read New Buffalo Mississippi instead of Michigan...pretty disappointed that I didn't notice it until then next day. Wish they'd reimburse or send new shirts
