This was my second consecutive year of seeing Vince Gill and Friends at the Jammin' to Beat the Blues show and both shows were fantastic! Vince is on stage for 3 1/2 hours! He's a wonderful entertainer, an absolutely amazing guitar player, and his voice is so pure and fabulous! Loved it!

About
Singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vince Gill has become one of the most celebrated country artists of all-time, selling over 24 million albums throughout his career and winning 20 Grammy Awards, more than any other male country artist in history. In 2013, he played for ticket holders in concert across North America and the U.K. and is scheduled to tour with George Strait in 2014. Born in 1957 in Oklahoma, he learned how to play several instruments including banjo and guitar as a child and played in a bluegrass band in high school. He joined the country band Pure Prairie League in the late 1970s before leaving the group in 1982 to pursue his solo career. He put out four solo albums in the 1980s, including 1984’s Turn Me Loose and 1989’s When I Call Your Name, before releasing the double platinum 1991 album Pocket Full of Gold. His next album, 1992’s I Still Believe in You, reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and sold over three million copies with hit singles “What the Cowgirls Do” and “Whenever You Come Around.” Gill’s 1993 Christmas album Let There Be Peace on Earth also went platinum, and 1994’s When Love Finds You peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard chart, his most successful album selling over four million copies. More commercial and critical success followed with 1996’s High Lonesome Sound and 1998’s The Key, and his next five solo albums reached the country top five, including 2000’s Let's Make Sure We Kiss Goodbye and 2006’s These Days. The Country Music Association has bestowed Gill with a total of 18 CMA Awards including two Entertainer of the Year awards and five Male Vocalist Awards, and in 2007, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

So Awesome!
by jq422 on 4/20/10Rhyman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5I have seen Vince three times in my life once when I was 13 and the other two times in my adult life. My love for his music has only elevated with each and every performance. He plays as if you and he were sitting on the back porch exchanging one humorous memory after another. There's no outrageous light shows or canons going off because it's not needed. He and his guitar with the company of some talented friends make the night endless the best kind of way possible. This performance was a benefit concert called Jammin to Beatin' the Blues-benefiting the Mental Health Association of Middel Tennessee. A friend or two would accompany him on the stage and belt out a great tune. Amy Grant was even in the audience supporting her man, "Now, that was cool!" There was a set of twins who composed a painting that was inspired by the night's events-you could watch them as the painting took life-it was silent auctioned off. last time I heard it was up to $3,000. Overall, such a great show and for a lack of better words..."So Awesome!"
A great concert for a great cause!!
by Leslie2010 on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5What an amazing show!! This was my first time seeing Vince Gill in concert and I am so glad that I did! He was funny and engaging with the audience and his music was awesome! I wasn't sure if I would like the "and friends" part of the show, but they were phenomenal!! It's so nice to hear up-and-coming local artists. Although I, unfortunately, can't remember all of the artists that joined Vince on stage, here are a few that stuck in my mind. Amy Grant (of course) sang one of her new songs,Jenny Gill sang a few songs...an Fantastic singer, Sean Weaver dazzled us with his guitar (an AMAZING guitar player...hope he goes far), and Jack (sorry, I forgot his last name) was another amazing guitar player with agreat voice. There was another great guitarist there (young, tall, with dark hair...sorry the name didn't stick in my head) but he was hard to hear over everyone else. My only complaint of the night was the frequent presence of Christian music. I am not a Christian music fan, so they could have played something else and I would have been happy.
hot licks!
by KaPor on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5Wow! Had never heard him before. Came to Nashville to see some music. Decided to give Vince Gill a try to round out our experience while here. Thought he was GREAT! Expected slower 'country twangy' music. He smoked! Fabulous guitar player. Great song writing! My horizons have expanded. The place was jumping! Lots of rockin', lots of blues'. Joy, joy, joy..... I'm loving Nashville.

Vince Gill Delivers Again!
by whiteiris on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5True to form, Vince Gill gathered an amazing collection of friends and musicians to deliver another truly fantastic performance at the Ryman. His unique ability to combine his musical gift with off-the-wall humor drew the audience into his world for a few hours like only Vince can do. His commitment to show-casing new talent in his shows demonstrates his genuine, caring nature and passion for his chosen profession. Hats off, Vince, and thanks for a great evening.
Jammin' to Beat the Blues---WOW
by Suz2911 on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5Vince Gill is an amazing entertainer! He brought so many musicians on stage!! There were times when they were playing I think they were unaware the audience was still sitting there!! It was a GREAT night!! Two thumbs WAAYY up!
Vince was great as usual
by JBarry on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5We have seen Vince in concert several times and last night was certainly a highlight. He really seems more at ease and has more fun in this kind of event. And the talent of his friends is tremendous. Truly a fun-filled, entertaining night and all for a great cause!! THANKS!
Vince Gill is Da MAN !
by jamr3 on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5The concert was great. The first half he sang slow songs and let us in on when, how, and why he wrote the different songs. It helped us know him a little more before the night was over. The second half he had various artists playing and singing and by the end of the concert, the house was rockin'. It was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this event.

I LOVED THE WHOLE NIGHT !!!!!!!!!!! It is obvious how the Lord has blessed Vince with his diplay of talents. But, what I really admire about Vince is how he is so interested in helping the careers of others. The talent last night in my opinion was "STAR-STUDDED". I wish that I could go again tonight. I practice Optometry in my home town of Dickson (Bob Wolcott said "HI" ! He is a personal friend of mine as well). Getting to bed at 1:00am will make the day long...but, it was worth it. WAY TO GO VINCE !!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for a wonderful night. Jerry
Gill dishes out soul food at the Ryman
by MasonRme on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5This ol' boy could have bought himself another bass boat if he had been paid for the strength of his performance and that of the friends he gathered together last night at the Ryman. His positive energy flowed through him and out into the hearts and souls of the audience as his rich tenor reverberated throughout the building. He and the Ryman were one. The young talent (and some not so young) that he gathered together reflected his talent as a producer and mentor of a new generation of talented folks. We saw tomorrow's stars first thanks to Gill.
Vince at the Ryman, can't get much better.
by FlyinSwine on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5One of the better concerts I have been to. Very entertaining. Wide array of musical genres.
Vince Gill & Friends
by NewVGFan on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5Vince Gill is a very likeable person: very funny, sincere, candid, and kind. I liked almost everyone that performed with him, except Sonya! - with that hideous red raincoat, trite and feigned country girl persona, and overdone Jesus-loving insipid song. Amy Grant, by contrast, is understated, elegant, and appealing. I could have done without Roger Miller's song "Time", and the 14 year old girl, even though she does have a lovely voice. VG's daughter has a nice voice, too. The musicians he invited were excellent, as well as his band. Without Vince Gill's personality and charm, it would have been a dismal evening.
Incredible show!
by ledford92 on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5The music was outstanding with Vince's love for helping young, talented artists shining through (very admirable). His comedic personality put it over the top.
Vince Gill was spectacular
by jawsn516 on 4/20/10Ryman Auditorium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5This was a great concert for a great cause! Every Vince Gill concert I have been to has been better and better each time. One of the greatest entertainers of all. A great singer, writer, and humanitariun. Vince gives his all in everything he does. It was great to see his wife Amy Grant and his daughter Jenny performing also. Great time was has by all and looking forward to the next Vince Gill concert!

I would definitely go again!!! Vince was wonderful as always. His guests were all just as good. The twins that was doing a painting to be auctioned off was very good. The painting was wonderful. I had a very good time.
Vince Gill is the best!!
by NanBonnie on 2/22/10DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - DurhamRating: 5 out of 5I gave my 87 year old Mom Vince Gill for Christmas! Vince has always been her favorite and she was thrilled to attend his show at DPAC on January 22, 2010. A gentleman affiliated with DPAC even gave us backstage passes for a meet and greet with Vince. Mother was so happy and for about three hours she had absolutely no pain or problems. Vince put on a wonderful show. When you come to see Vince Gill, you see Vince Gill and he gives 150%. We loved the way he personalizes his concerts with a story about some of the songs. Mom would whisper to me "Oh I hope he sings this song" and Vince would sing that song. Mom laughed and cried as Vince sang her favorites! It was a dream come true for my Mom! When we went back stage Vince was so gracious while Mom explained to him how much she loved his music. Even though Vince had to be exhausted from his wonderful performance, he never failed to smile and give each of his fans a photo op. Mom is still showing the pictures and telling everyone about her great time! Thanks Vince!
More than fantastic
by Tinytoes on 2/15/10Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 5 out of 5Watching Vince Gill in concert was totally awesome. I sat close enough to just watch and listen to him sing and play. I have seen him in concert when I was living in Nashville, TN. I know that he had to hurry and get going to his next concert, but I think he should have also taken some time to sign autographs. If and when he comes back to Daytona, I would love to see him again and hopefully get better seats.
Disappointed
by ormbchgirl on 2/6/10Daytona Beach Peabody Auditorium - Daytona BeachRating: 3 out of 5Although I like his music and brought my 80 yr old mom, his language was awful.I was embarrassed for his wife and family.
