Within Temptation, a Dutch symphonic metal band, has recently released the song and video, “Paradise (What About Us?),” from their upcoming album, "Hydra." Fans of this female-fronted band will be treated to a spectacular concert when the group goes on tour in spring 2014. Those lucky enough to get tickets are always in for an unforgettable night, thanks to Sharon den Adel's powerful soprano vocals combined with her partner, Robert Westerholt's rhythmic guitar skills. Their concerts are well known for being a mix of dynamic ballads and symphonic anthems that take full advantage of the group’s musical and performance talents.
The band released their first album, "Enter," in 1997, followed by "Mother Earth" in 2000. "The Silent Force" came out in 2004 and was certified gold in just a week in the Netherlands, Belgium and Finland. It also ended up being certified platinum in the Netherlands. "The Heart of Everything" came out in 2007 to critical success, reaching gold status in three countries and platinum in the Netherlands. It hit number one on the Dutch Albums chart and broke into the US Billboard Top 200, peaking at number 106. "The Unforgiving" album came out in 2011 and was certified gold in Poland. Metal Storm awarded it third place in the 2011 Best Symphonic Metal Album of the Year list. The band’s next project, "Hydra," will feature guest artists Howard Jones from Killswitch Engage, Dave Pirner and Tarja Turunen (ex-Nightwish singer). Within Temptation will hit the road for a world tour at the end of February 2014, and tickets are now available. The group looks forward to seeing all their fans at the concerts.

This concert was amazing! Within Temptation were just great live, the songs were great and everyone had a great time singing along. The movies being played over the back of the stage looked great and except for a few problems (we never did see Sinead...), it was perfect the entire way through. I would definitely go again when they come back to nyc!
It was wonderful to see one of my favorite bands perform. They played some of my favortite songs and it sounded amazing! The venue was not designed too great so the stage area was narrow. I did get a good spot though. Even the upstairs seating doesn't offer a good view.
This was an excellent show. The opening band, Three, wasn't very good, in that they didn't really fit in with the headliners. Within Temptation, however, was incredible. Go see them.
Great show by the Dutch Band, Within Temptation. I've seen them in concert several times before, and they put on a wonderful show, as usual. Sharon was in fine voice, and the band was right on point. Only glitch in the show was during the performance of "Angels" when the mike blew. The reason I did not give them 5 stars is the projections they used were screened over a backdrop that had The Unforgiving symbol on it, and they were thus almost completely impossible to see. But the music rocked!
Sharon den Adel sounds amazing live. She hits such high notes with [what looks like] such little effort. Her voice was hypnotic and she looked beautiful. The entire band was amazing. I loved when the three guitarist jammed during the opening of one of her songs. Terminal 5, however is quite the experience.....a lot of standing.....for me and my group (about 7 hours total of standing). You stand on line outside [of the building], you stand on line inside, then you stand for the entire concert. Thank goodness Within Temptation was worth it....Great Concert!!!
Awesome event. Sucked that they would not allow using normal cameras to capture the concert, but w/e. I've enjoyed the concert itself immensely! Yay, WT!
Within Temptation isn't well known here in the US, but hopefully that changes soon. This is their first trip here since 2007 and I drove four hours to see the show. Their stage presence and energy are fantastic and Sharon's voice is amazing! It was well worth the trip and price of admission. The venue was pretty nice. I had never been there, but it was clean and well managed. The opening act ("3") was surprisingly good and I'm sure we will hear more from them in the future.
Within Temptation was hands down amazing. Sharon's voice was beautiful and the band sounded perfect. My one complaint was the bass was so loud the entire place shook. WT is more or less symphonic metal so bass is a given but it was just too loud. This isn't the first time I've been to Terminal 5 and it's something that is always my only complaint with the venue. Maybe they need a new sound guy... The opener (a band I'd never heard of) was 3 (yes just the #) and they were from upstate NY. Over all they're a rock band to me and very good. With Within Temptation's new album, 3 was a perfect fit. The singer/guitarist did an awesome jam session towards the end and the guy can play great. Over all the nite was a blast and everyone in my group enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
Eventhough there seemed to be issues with sound, Sharon never gave up on her fans. She rocked it out loud and was singing hit after hit. There were only about two slow songs in her entire performance. The venue was a sold out show and there were alot of people in this event. This was a great place to perform. Lots of space. Im glad I got to see her twice. Oh yes, she closed the show with Mother Earth: with a bang! Love you Sharon, keep up the great work!

I read many terrible reviews about Terminal 5 and was prepared for the worst; However, my worries were not warranted. The sound was very acceptable for the type of venue that Terminal 5 is. If you are not a rookie to these events, you know that you have to arrive early to get a choice spot to see and hear. I heard many people complaining about not being able to see before the show started. All I can say is get there earlier especially if you are short in stature and you will be happier for it. As far as Within Temptation goes, I had an absolute great time. The band was full of energy and did an excellent job of keeping the crowed energized throughout the show. They played a good balance of new songs from Unforgiving and placing older favorites throughout the show. They have so many great songs that the show could have gone for hours and I don't think anyone would have minded. I saw them the night before in Massachusetts and they were equally good there. I met people at the New York show that came from Iowa and Oragon. I drove from Eastern Connecticut and I don't think anyone was disappointed. I will defiantly see them again if they return...I hope they don't wait another 5 years. Thanks WT for a great time.
An amazing concert... The opening band was great, pumping everyone up for the main attraction: Within Temptation! Everyone in the band looked and sounded exactly like they do in their music videos, and their interaction with the audience was great. You could tell that they really loved their fans by the constant eye contact and inclusion in all the song. Overall, it was just amazing.
The energy in the concert was amazing! From beginning to end it was nonstop. If I had any complaint is that like all good things, it had to end. The highlight of the of the concert was "memories.". Most of the songs they played was from their new album. I would love to fly and see them again.
Best live show I have seen for a power metal band. Sharon and the rest of the band were awesome. Vocals were great and the instrumentals were also great. I was on the floor and close to the stage and had great views.
Within Temptation was deff worth the 8 hour drive to go see it. Sharron ( the singer) has such a powerful and amazing voice live that it is breathtaking. highly recommended to see them live.
What an awesome show! Within Temptation never disappoints and this was no exception. It's been years since their last show in NYC and the states, and they put on a great set. One of the songs had audio issues, which was too bad, because they could not complete the song.
The Within Temptation concert at Terminal 5 in NYC was nothing short of AMAZING. The energy was intense and palpable! The Sold Out Venue rocked in unison! Sharon's strong, melodic, haunting voice floated over the surge of energy that the band offered and the crowd devoured. It rose and dipped enticing the crowd into a near frenzy. The electric guitar rifts coaxed and tempted us all. It was symphonic grandeur at it's finest hour!! By the end of the night we were all locked within very jaws of temptation itself. A band not ever to be missed! You will not be disappointed!
what can i say about this band? they are amazing and they are incredible LIVE!! not many bands can say that . even the opening act was pretty good, they totally won over the crowd even though everyone was dying to see the main band. I wish the show was longer and hope to see them soon :)
the concert was fantastic. my brother is now a fan of them. completely memorized and once they come back to the US i am going to be there.
I loved every second of it! They were amazing, the space was sweet, and the lighting efects were awesome.
