About

California-bred singer-songwriter, Jillian Rose Banks, aka BANKS, crafts moody, alternative pop with shades of contemporary R&B. Emerging in the early 2010s with her debut album, Goddess, BANKS created a dark signature sound of downtempo, alt-R&B that helped build a loyal, cross-genre audience. The critically acclaimed and gold-certified album peaked just outside the Top Ten on the Billboard 200 and features songs like "Before I Ever Met You," "Warm Water," and "Fall Over." Her highly anticipated sophomore album, The Altar, was released in 2016 and includes singles "Fuck with Myself," "Gemini Feed," and "Mind Games," and peaked at number 17 on the Billboard 200. BANKS returned with her third studio album, III in 2019, followed by her 2022 album Serpentina, which she recorded amid the pandemic during months of isolation and is tied to themes of shedding old skin and embracing the new. In 2024, BANKS celebrated the 10-year anniversary of Goddess with the release of an acoustic version of the iconic album entitled Goddess: Unplugged, along with a four-continent sold-out tour where she teased songs from her fifth studio album, Off With Her Head to much fanfare.

    Performance was not that impressive and the crowd was sloppy. Lots of drunk girls trying to outperform Banks lol Lost little baby deer walk like creatures with tits hanging completely out and not even a good friend to say hey girl…you feeling a little chilly? Sloppy crowds take away from the already lack luster performance with tons of playback.

    I have seen Banks four times and each performance is a difference experience. She knows how to connect with her audience. They have been the best concerts I have ever been and I have been to quite a few.

    I’ve seen Banks now 4 times. Twice, luckily, this Serpentina tour. It is a profound joy as a music listener to enjoy an artist like her. Her live shows are enigmatic, her raw talent shines and puts everyone in the crowd under her spell. Her audience has the most amazing vibes. If there’s one thing I know for certain it’s that if Banks is in town then I’m going to be lining up to watch her perform. Proudly a forever fan.
