New Orleans-bred rapper and freestyle king Kevin Gates is quickly making himself known within the hip-hop community since breaking onto the scene with 2007's smashing mixtape Pick Of Da Litter. Combining his raspy flows with soulful crooning on heavy hitters like "Satellites" and "Arm & Hammer", Gates has a finesse that keeps fans coming back for more. Back on tour, Gates and his hype men will have ticket buyers getting down all night at his upcoming shows.

Kevin Gates, born Kevin Gilyard, grew up on the streets of Louisiana finding solace in music by penning lyrics at a young age. After spending years honing his craft, Gates released his debut mixtape Pick Of Da Litter in 2007. Although it wasn't an initial hit, the album sparked several more releases and attracted attention from big-time artists like Lil' Wayne. The up-and-coming rapper has been on the rise ever since, collaborating with Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J on his 2013 mixtape Stranger Than Fiction and having music featured on Rolling Stone's 100 Best Songs of 2013 list. With his 2014 album By Any Means and an upcoming tour in the works, Gates will have eager ticket buyers shakin' it to his hot rap jams.

    The concert was great. But they should of been more organized. They probably lost a lot of money not been organized. First time going to a concert at this place and the waiting time to get a drink was crazy!

    Without Dreka these shows have been heading in the wrong direction. Kevin is surrounded by an unsolid team but the industry generally lets artists crumble behind poor management. Kevin does a great job performing. I just wish he’d do more of his older tracks like 4:30AM. This particular show wasn’t a part of his tour but the openers could have been better. I also do not believe this venue hosts many concerts. As the sound quality wasn’t there. Most fans pause on his newer tracks. The dancers add 0 value to the shows!!

    I’ve been seeing Kevin all over the country for 10+ years. The shows are becoming more and more intolerable. Mainly because of the “team” around him. However, this show with the orchestra was great. Who ever knew trap music could sound so elegant. The dancers also do NOTHING for his performances other than an unnecessary presence on the stage. I can also understanding having openers but they could at least be up and coming with smoother transitions. The VIP merch at this show was from previous tours but that’s really an Atlantic/Warner issue.
