Since beginning play in 1961, the Minnesota Vikings have won 21 division championships, made 32 playoff appearances and played in four Super Bowl games (1970, 1974, 1975 and 1977). The team’s 32 playoff appearances are the sixth-most among NFL teams.
In recent years, the Vikings have reached additional benchmarks that include executing the largest comeback in NFL history when they defeated the Colts in overtime in December 2022, as well as Head Coach Kevin O’Connell becoming the first coach in team history to have multiple 13-win seasons.
The Vikings drafted J.J. McCarthy 10th overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, marking the earliest they have drafted a quarterback in franchise history.
