Shygirl on Tour

London singer and songwriter Shygirl's music is an eclectic combination of genres, including hip-hop, hyperpop, grime, and rap combined with experimental sounds. She gained notoriety working with her close friend Sega Bodega. She's known for her lyrical honesty and doesn't shy away from using stories from her personal life and past relationships in her music.

Shygirl released her first single, "Want More," in 2016. It was produced by Sega Bodega and released on the NUXXE label, which was co-founded by Sega Bodega, Coucou Chloe and Shygirl. She collaborated with Sega Bodega on two more singles in 2017, "MSRY" and "NVR." She released her first EP, Cruel Practice, in 2018 to critical acclaim, with Pitchfork calling the record and Shygirl "captivating." She followed up with her second EP, Alias, in 2020. In 2021 she released Blu, a performance film that features songs from Alias. MusicNGear listed Alias as one of the best EPs of 2020.

In 2021, her hit single "Tasty" was nominated for Best Independent Track at the AIM Independent Music Awards. In 2022, Shygirl was featured on the chart-topping hit "Bbycakes" with Mura Masa, Pink Pantheress and Lil Uzi Vert. In 2022, Shygirl also released her debut album, Nymph. It quickly hit the charts landing at the No. 1 spot on the UK Dance chart, No. 7 on the US Dance chart and No. 10 on the US Heat Chart.

The shriek on her hit single "Uckers" was a TikTok trend featured largely on makeup transformation videos. Her music has also been featured in Rihanna's Fenty Beauty commercials and fashion shows.

In an interview with Doechii for Interview Magazine, she said, "I like keeping performances as an experimental space and involving the audience in the process. For me, they're like another collaborator." If you'd like to collaborate with Shygirl and enjoy the freedom of her performances, get tickets to see her when she comes to a city near you.

Shygirl Live in Concert

Blane Muise, professionally known as Shygirl, was born May 4, 1993, in London. She is of Grenadian descent. She studied practical photography at the University of Bristol and briefly worked at a modeling agency.

She fell into music, experimenting with her friend Sega Bodega on vocals and beats. In an interview with Berlin In Stereo in 2020 she said she chose the name Shygirl as an "empty space she can fill with ideas and work," adding that "Like Picasso had his blue period, this is my Shygirl period."

She lists Moloko, Faithless, Massive Attack, Aphex Twin, Madonna, and Rihanna as a few of her musical influences.

I was lucky enough to see Shy open for charli & troye for SWEAT and let me say, she really knows how to get you going. her music makes you want to get up and dance all night. she’s definitely a must see artist!

I fell in love with her while seeing her live. Music sounds great and she hypes up the crowd.

  • Such a great experience

Once Shygirl hit the stage I was locked in! She is perfect in a smaller space she has a great presence and a great show interacting with lights and music and her vocals and dancing! I had a good time. My only complaint was that she came on stage late but I know that’s sometimes beyond the artist’s control

  • OMG! GOTTA SEE HER AGAIN!!!

    by A. on 10/1/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I absolutely loved her stage presence. She sang ALL her hits! Both from Alias and Nymph. She interacted with the crowd ,even let us touch her hand. ( we are not worthy!) The experience was amazing. It was fun being around like minded people and singing our hearts out. The stage setup wasn’t like the others but I think it was an error on the venue or could be a transportation issue, never the less AMAZING PERFORMANCE !!!

  • … meh

by Shygworl on 4/22/23Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 3 out of 5

My review has nothing to do with Shygirl or how she sounded. It has more to do with the venue, sound, and setting. I’ve seen many social media posts if Shygirl’s your and was excited for the huge mirror/screen and visuals, however in Atlanta we got a few small mirrors on stands, no visuals, and the sound was not great. I still danced the night away cause I love shygirl, but the vibe of the show itself was not giving hot girl.

  • go girl give us nothing

LOVED her at iii points but saw her again in miami for her last US tour date and it was not it. doors were at 11 she didn't come out until 1 and was doing an "encore" 45 mins later. club shy was supposed to be from 2am-late and it was actually just a bunch of guys DJing, no shygirl, not even a club shy remix despite that album dropping like the day before the show. i drove like 6 hours for this event so it was really disappointing.

  • Love her

  • loveddd except for small thing

by angel on 3/27/23The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

it was great, wonderful, amazing etc etc shygirl is THAT girl.. the venue was also beautiful and VIP was worth it. the only issue was that a guard/worker at the front was kinda uncooperative and didn't understand that i had a VIP ticket and insisted i go to the back of the line outside. if i didn't put my foot down, i'd have waited outside for no reason. he wasn't very apologetic about it after it was cleared up and he just had a sour attitude overall, but otherwise i'm glad i stood my ground and didn't let him convince me that i had the wrong ticket :)

  • Amazing

Shygirl was amazing and the entertainment performing alongside her was incredible. Added a cool element to her music. The Wiltern always a great venue too!
