Another fantastic performance from a band I am happy I was introduced to by my boyfriend! You have a fan in us both and in many many Furries around Boston and the world! Keep up the great work and cannot wait to listen to you all again soon in person and in my earbuds!

I'd like to preface this by saying I love the Mountain Goats. I think they're an amazing band and I really enjoy their music. I also liked the venue at Kalamazoo State Theater. it was a beautiful place. But when it came down to the music itself, something felt off. At first I thought it might be the setlist. Y'know, maybe I didn't quite like all of the song choices, but looking back, I think they were great. But I realized that what might've spoiled it a bit is not being able to hear John Darnielle's voice/words very well when singing. The music itself I could hear loud and clear but some of the words were lost in the music and thus I couldn't understand much of what he was saying, and I didn't know all of the songs he played the best so I didn't really just know the words off the top of my head. Now, don't get me wrong, some songs were GREAT, but not all of them hit the same and it just left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. It could have also just been my seats up in the Mezzanine, I'm not sure. I still love the Mountain Goats though, they're great.

This was my first time seeing the Mountain Goats & I didn’t know their music but I went with my son who is a huge fan I thoroughly enjoyed this band of great musicians with their wild energy particularly the lead singer who is a talented & interesting individual!! A great time was had by all!!!

The Mountain Goats were great to see. I was impressed at all the instruments they could play and they performed really well. The music wasn't so loud that it hurt and the crowd wasn't too dense to walk through, if needed. The bathroom worked, beer and confessions were good, and the theater was absolutely beautiful, with early 20th century style and decor.

The Mountain Goats are such a talented band! Great musicians, quarky and entertaining enough to keep it fun. Always a great show. This is our 3rd time seeing them.

Another delightful night, full of great music and charming stories. This was John Darnielle doing a solo show, and he dove into the the deep catalog, some I hadn't ever heard. At least one he wrote the week before. A night full of surprises. (Rett Madison was also excellent, opening the show.) If you are a fan, the solo shows are a unique treat.

I was expecting The Mountain GoatS, plural, not just one guy.

There aren't many bands that perform equally well as the whole band or with a solo performance by only one band member. Founding singer/songwriter John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats offered a brilliant one-man show at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles this week (2/29/24) singing many of his old songs, so beloved by fans. Cheering, calling out and often singing along, the audience was part of the great vibe that night, and John sang with his usual passion, making the old songs sound as fresh as if he'd written them yesterday. That's partly because the stories he tells are truly timeless, the language inventive, powerful and authentic, his guitar playing a total melodic match with the words. JD also forms a strong bond with the audience right away, chatting and telling stories in between songs, often funny, making us all feel loved in a totally unsentimental way. Thursday night was no exception. In fact, I feel he's hitting some kind of peak in his singing. I was completely wowed. Hope John D. comes back soon, and that next time he brings the band, Jon, Matt and Peter, who are also wonderful!

Wonderful concert experience at a very nice venue! This was my first duo Mountain Goats concert and it did not disappoint. I was hoping for more songs from Jenny from Thebes but it was great to hear some of the older songs. I look forward to seeing them again in April!
