ARMIN VAN BUUREN IN CONCERT:

EDM fans have spoken, and veteran Dutch DJ Armin Van Buuren is their king. As one of the most popular trance DJs in the world, Van Buuren has topped DJ Magazine's fan poll a record five times, virtually dominating dance music with his unprecedented run at the top of the list from 2007-2010. Following the 2013 release of his fifth album Intense, Van Buuren is once again entrancing fans around the world with his prismatic live shows on the 2014 Armen Only: Intense tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born in Leiden, Netherlands, Armin Van Buuren began DJing while at university, eventually putting his law degree on hold to pursue music full time. He made his first UK chart appearance at just 19 with "Blue Fear," climbing the charts again several years later with "Communication." By 2001, Van Buuren's marathon sets had earned him a spot on DJ Magazine's Top-100 list, setting the stage for the launch of his hugely popular State of Trance radio show. While his skills as a producer were highlighted on his 2003 full-length debut 76, it was 2008's Imagine that really broke the mold — the album peaked at No. 1 in the Netherlands, a first for a dance music artist in Dutch music history.

    This was an insane event to attend. Not only was Armin the headliner but there was also Ferry Corsten, Talla 2XLC B2B George Acosta, and Roberto Gonzalez. Roberto was the secondary opener after they opened early at 8 pm but unfortunately I couldn't attend then. Roberto played a lot of good classic songs, then Ferry Corsten came on and played a lot of pulse pounding trance. Armin van Buuren followed up with another classic set of his to play some older and newer songs of his. Talla 2XLC b2b Roberto Gonzalez ended the show with a big bang around 3:15 am.

    The event was way oversold. It was impossible to move in or out of the crowd. People were watching the boxing match on Netflix on their phones. Only mainstage tracks were selected. Very str8 bro-y crowd, not very considerate or friendly compared to European audiences.

    As big Armin/SOT fans we knew the show would be awesome, but add in Ferry and it was so perfect for us. The venue, Echostage, was great. They clearly knew how to handle logistics, and we were happy to walk a little to park in a slightly cheaper, but still secured, lot.

    The space was big enough ,with the sound system makes your veins move in your body,I enjoyed this Immensely make you want really dance 💃🏾. The only thing I found was the( coat check was extremely chaotic) ,there need to be a better system that I saw that day More order is recommended,for a vast menu like this!

    Armin is always an experience I look forward to. I can’t believe how wasn’t sold out; it might be because of how busy October is and honestly I didn’t see much marketing for it. Armin always exceeds my expectations. I wish the Armory put in more effort to promoting this because I didn’t know about it until a week prior to the show date. I’m happy I got to see Armin and I hope to see him rebooked in the future.
