About

BASEMENT IN CONCERT:

British rock outfit Basement delivers a unique brand of melodic hardcore that combines the emotive qualities of Sunny Day Real Estate and the grunge aesthetic of Nirvana. Following a several-year hiatus the band is back and busier than ever, embarking on a summer US tour while simultaneously recording their highly anticipated third album. In concert the five-piece brings an onslaught of energy to the stage, thrashing around to favorites like “Covet” and “Crickets Throw Their Voice” while the audience keeps pace with dancing and headbanging. Not sure what fits this band]. Whether they’re playing older material or previewing cuts from their forthcoming album, Basement will leave ticket buyers thoroughly rocked with their melodic yet heavy-hitting sound.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Basement formed in Ipswich, England in 2009 and released their debut EP Songs About the Weather the following year on For Cover Records. In 2011 they dropped their debut album I Wish I Could Stay Here, supporting the release with extensive touring in the UK, Australia, and the US. They followed up in 2012 with sophomore album Colourmeinkindness, a critically acclaimed release that led to more touring. After playing a final show at London’s Camden Underground in late 2012 the band went on an indefinite hiatus, but all was not lost. Basement reunited in 2014 and surprised fans with the EP Further Sky, which they had recorded in secret. Since then they’ve continued to electrify on tour while making preparations for their third full-length album.

  • Breath taking

Been a fan of Basement for the last 6 years, but never thought I’d have the opportunity to see them. Then, on my birthday, they announced the US tour, and immediately I bought tickets. When it finally came to the show, it blew me away. Such good energy, sound, one of the best atmospheres and overall concerts I’ve ever experienced. I would absolutely love a chance to see them live again!🤘🏼🤘🏼

  • Great band live

This is my second time seeing Basement live and it was an amazing experience. The sound was clean and vocals were great. I'd see them again at this venue, but it seems like they might need a bigger venue next time. I would recommend seeing them live.

  • A band to never miss

Basement is a band that is and always will be a special band. If you relate to the music. If you enjoy passion, hard lyrics, and non stop energy. Go see this band. These shows after 5 years of not playing and no new material were electric. Some of the best live music I have ever seen.

Such an amazing show. Sound was great! Two bands that I’m very fond of and am so happy were able to tour with one another. Such humble bands and amazing musicians. Only bummer was not being able to get a snoopy and Charlie sticker but got some fun merch regardless :)

High energy, very well-played, and I was having such a good time that it passed by in the blink of an eye.

  • Basement was too good!

by LemonQueen on 5/4/16Royale Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Basement toured with turnstile and defeater. and all the band members took turns playing the songs and it was still so good. Franz from turnstile sang Bad Apple for basement and it sounded great. It was cool to see all the collaboration. The royale as a venue was pretty good too. I wish the actual floor was a little bigger but it was good for the most part. It has a barrier too which sucks.

  • Basement, Defeater and Turnstile!

Unforgettable performance! Live crowd! The venue is pretty cool too of course with AC. It has a lounge and bar.

  • Kick me in the face again!!

by Xylwlx on 5/3/16Music Hall of Williamsburg - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Great show, Basement has been one of my favorite bands for years now as well as Defeater and Turnstile, seeing them together was amazing. Although I got kicked in the face at one point, I shook it off *bdum tss (reference to one of Turnstiles songs), I wouldnt mind getting kicked in the face again just to relive that night. I also wouldn't mind elbowing the a-hole next to me in the face when he said "if my girlfriend were here I'd deck her in the face as soon as Turnstile starts playing". I definetly wouldn't mind doing that again. Overall, Great show!!
