About

Legendary New York-bred singer-songwriter Billy Joel has toured only sporadically in recent years, but fans have plenty of opportunities to score tickets to see him in concert going forward -- if they're willing to head out to New York's Madison Square Garden. Joel signed an open-ended deal with MSG that will have him playing a concert at the venue once per month for as long as there's demand. And demand has never been a problem for Joel at he historic New York venue; he played his first show there in 1978, and had logged 46 concerts at the arena by 2013.
New York isn't alone in its love for the singer. Joel has long been established as one of the top-grossing touring artists in the U.S., and has sold more than 150 million records over the course his four-decade career. After recording a long string of hits including "Piano Man," "New York State of Mind," "Just the Way You Are," "You May Be Right," "Pressure," "Uptown Girl," "We Didn't Start the Fire," and  "The River of Dreams," Joel decided that he was done writing pop and rock songs. It's a decision he's stuck with; it's been more than 20 years since he's recorded a new pop or rock album. He's composed new classical material instead, while continuing to play songs from his catalog in concert.

Billy Joel’s New Year’s Eve concert was absolutely unforgettable. From the start with Movin' Out, concert goers felt the high energy that comes on New Year's Eve. The setlist was packed with crowd-pleasers like Piano Man, My Life, and Movin’ Out, but what really stood out were the unexpected moments—like Nessun Dorma showcasing Mike DelGuidice and a powerhouse duet of Whole Lotta Love with Jason Bonham. The energy in the arena was electric, and Billy's voice sounded strong all night. You could feel how much the audience appreciated every song. The midnight celebration was timed perfectly, and the atmosphere in the arena was full of joy and connection. From deep cuts like Souvenir to the rock-and-roll encore that included Scenes From an Italian Restaurant, Big Shot and You May Be Right, the whole evening felt thoughtfully crafted. It was more than just a concert—it was a celebration of a legendary career and the start of a new year, all rolled into one. Always looking forward to the next Billy Joel show...

  • Billy Joel at MSG

    by Brian H on 4/26/25Rating: 5 out of 5

We saw Billy Joel back to back nights at Madison Square Garden two years ago and there is nothing like watching him play the piano and sing. It's like his voice hasn't changed one bit! I would highly recommend getting the lower level seats on the side for an amazing experience!

  • Once in a lifetime

by Bill on 3/1/25Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Great venue and as always great performance by the legendary Billy Joel. He never disappoints! Glad I decided to spend a little more than I would have to see him one more time.

  • Very good show but...

    by ANX1102 on 2/25/25Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 4 out of 5

It was a fantastic show, he was just so good. However, there were few clusters of people who thought it would be best to stand so the people behind them could stare at their backs for the length of the show. It didn't happen to us but my heart broke for those stuck behind them. At $800+ per ticket, I won't splurge again unless I'm sure the ushers or security will sit these people down so everyone can enjoy the show.

  • Perfect!!

by Skemo on 2/25/25Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Billy Joel put on a fantastic show at Mohegan Sun's Arena. He played most of his great hits and added a bit of comedy into the show. His band kept the crowd moving and grooving to the music. The crowd was very enthusiastic during the performance by dancing and swaying to the music....

  • Amazing show

by Rock fan on 2/25/25Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was possibly the best concert I’ve ever been to. Although all of the hits aren’t possible in a single concert Billy does have a great set list.

  • Fantastic experience

by Linda on 2/25/25Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Great seat - concert started on time - Billy Joel played my favorites - got the audience involved - showcased his backup musicians and vocalist. Enjoyed the lighting and Jumbotron, especially during "We didn't start the fire". Loved the revolving stage. Was well worth my money.
