About

Over the course of his more than 50-year career, guitar legend Eric Clapton has covered an immense amount of ground. Along with dozens of album releases and concerts worldwide, he’s received three Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions — one for his solo career and two more as a member of both Cream and the Yardbirds. He’s also earned an unofficial spot high on the list of best rock guitarists of all time.

Though his eponymous solo debut surfaced in 1970, Clapton’s solo career took off in the mid-‘70s with “461 Ocean Boulevard” and its now-ubiquitous single, “I Shot the Sheriff.” The English performer has since released 19 more solo sets, most recently “Old Sock.” That 13-track collection features mostly covers, as well as guest appearances by several established musicians, including J.J. Cale, Paul McCartney, Chaka Khan and Steve Winwood.

Clapton’s numerous tours - both alone and with his many projects — have canvased the globe, with tickets selling out regularly at iconic venues like London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

  • Better than I could have imagined!

by JC on 2/10/25Acrisure Arena at Greater Palm Springs - Palm DesertRating: 5 out of 5

Every musician on that stage was so skilled they each stood out as individuals while elevating each other. Eric Clapton has still got it, he was SO incredible! This was a once in a lifetime chance to see a legend and he did not disappoint. The venue was great, as well, except the enormous plastic cups, but that’s not so bad.

  • Rock Legend still rocking

    by Tony B on 10/27/24Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Even in hit later years, Eric Clapton is still playing and singing at such a high level. The night was inspiring on many levels, from the great soloing (from all!) to the choice of deep repertoire. EC is a true legend.

  • Unconformable

by So Cal Q on 10/26/24Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

The seats are way to uncomfortable and allow larger folks to creep into another's seat space. Eric sang to many covers. Lighting was poor. But he could still sing and his band was good. 1 and done for me.

  • Eric Clapton...Bring back your classics!

by Jackie on 10/24/24Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

Eric Clapton was a "bucket list"performer for me. Somewhat disappointed. We "liked"the Eric Clapton performance at the Hollywood Bowl, but we would have "loved"it if he sang his old classics... He left out so many old favorites that we were looking forward to. :(

  • Extra ordinary

The best I have ever seen. And Hollywood Bowl was great!

Awesome show . Opening act Jimmy Vaughn was spectacular ! Great opening for Eric Clapton

  • Cold and dark, but great music.

by Marika on 10/20/24Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

I don't know what happened, but the stage was pretty dark the whole evening. Maybe the heat was off because musicians had to wear shawls and fingerless gloves. Eric still plays and sings well, but I would've preferred more of his hits rather than all the blues songs. Also, Eric never said a word to the audience...really strange...maybe he was upset about lighting and heat.

  • Eric Clapton is still fantastic

by CWIII on 10/18/24Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

The legend lives on. Eric Clapton is still fantastic, accompanied by a great group of musicians. And of course the Hollywood Bowl is a great venue.

  • Clapton

by ThomaYac on 10/17/24Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

I thought Eric was good but the lighting on the band was poor. Eric never introduced his band members. Also, he played one (1) encore song!!!! Why not 3, he had plenty of time!!

  • Come On Eric!

by MUSICLOVER on 10/17/24Acrisure Arena at Greater Palm Springs - Palm DesertRating: 4 out of 5

Eric and his band sounded great! The playlist was good, but could have included a few more songs (he certainly has the catalog). Our biggest "rub"was Eric's lack of personality. There was no interaction with the audience. We weren't expecting much from him, based on other reviews...but come on. Acrisure Center was great!
