Great jazz concert. Great performances by all the musicians.
To Much In-Between-Song ‘Chamber of Commerce’ Crapola. The Band Barely Worked Up a Sweat. The Vocalist was Great!
Jeff Goldblum was a complete delight . He is truly what you see in the movies. His show was spectacular and I hope to see one in Ohio soon!
The music was fantastic. However the rowdy crowd, and how Jeff revved them up was annoying. Lots of screaming drunks. We left at intermission. His games that he played at the beginning were really annoying and stupid and it went on for a good 45 minutes with lots of people screaming their heads off and yelling answers out to him. He asked questions like what type of gum do I have in my right pocket.. and everyone had to clap to decide which type of gum it was. Anyway, I like Jeff Goldblum, but he’s very weird.
Jeff was fun and personable. The music absolutely blew me away. It was so good. The only negative were the people in the crowd that thought Jeff was their best friend and they were so funny shouting the names of his movies whenever he asked a question.
The venue was gorgeous. Jeff Goldblum was beyond words all throughout taken time to engage with the audience. The band was so incredibly talented and inspiring. I could of gotten lost in that moment forever. As a pianist myself I found Jeff inspirational a true bodhisattva of our time.
I loved every minute of Jeff Goldblum's comedy and music show. He is a surprisingly good jazz pianist. He did a stand-up comic act, telling stories and playing games with the audience, before the music started. Every 3 songs, Jeff came back as a comedian with jokes and guessing games for the audience. The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra is a group of serious professional musicians, who played everything from 1960's rock & roll, to Thelonious Monk. Jeff & the Orchestra were obviously having fun together. A truly memorable and fun evening.
Jeff Goldblum was entertaining and lively, and I really enjoyed the show itself. I was not impressed with the venue. The restrooms were outdated, and the price of concessions was not worth the quality of the products that were offered.
Despite the commonly held belief that Jeff Goldblum is a national treasure, this concert was not worth the price of admission. The 2nd balcony at The Moore in Seattle should be removed due to the absolute garbage view point, acoustics, and the type of crowd the nosebleed section draws. It felt like a non-concert. The artists looked awful and sounded bad -all of them. I believe the experience would have been slightly more enjoyable if I hadn't been looking down on top of their heads which caused a queasy feeling in my stomach. In order to access the 2nd balcony it's required to line up inside after the initial line up outside. The ascent/descent is ridiculous. The people behind me didn't stop talking loudly the entire 50 minutes of the performance I could bare. The way in which the evening started with Jeff meandering onto the stage and never being introduced set a weird tone and the way in which he played with the audience (shouting back and forth) was not appreciated and in fact was rather annoying. I also thought the singer he had was very mediocre. When they started to play a really bad version of a Taylor Swift song I knew it was time to go. I wish I could get my money back.
I just randomly bought a ticket for this show because I'm trying to expand my music horizons. I'm so glad that I did, because I surprisingly really enjoyed it. Of course, Jeff Goldblum was entertaining when he spoke, but for me, the best part was Joe Bagg, the organist. The vocalist, Gina Saputo (I think?) was a terrific performer as well. Would go see again if they come through the Seattle area again. I'm so inspired by this, I may go see the Yellowjackets when they come to town. This type of music really is better live.
