Santana in Concert
Few musicians in the history of American popular music inspire the same reverence as Carlos Santana. For more than four decades, he has been one of the music world's most distinctive and exciting guitarists, maintaining his reputation as an artist who continues to revolutionize the form.
Long before listeners knew terms like "fusion" and "world music," Santana was already a master who blended genres and traditions into a sound that was all his own. It's no wonder the young guitarist generated so much excitement as a foremost member of the Bay Area's fertile music community of the late 1960s.
With the release of his debut album Santana and an incendiary set at Woodstock in 1969, Santana established himself as one of the key artists of the era, gaining worldwide fame for his band's combination of Latin, jazz, blues, rock, and R&B. The new star proved his staying power when Santana remained on the Billboard charts and successors Abraxas and Santana III both reached No. 1.
In 1998, Santana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In addition to racking up career sales of more than 100 million records, he earned another spot in history books when Supernatural — the multiplatinum 1999 album that included such hits as "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" — won nine Grammy Awards, tying the record for most wins by a single project.
In 2014, he published his best-selling memoir, The Universal Tone: Bringing My Story to Light. Among his recent musical endeavors has been Santana IV, a thrilling album that saw him reunite with musicians from his band's early-‘70s lineup; and Power of Peace, a deeply soulful collaboration with The Isley Brothers.
Santana returned with more new music in 2019. In Search of Mona Lisa is an EP featuring three instrumentals inspired by the awe he felt the first time he saw Leonardo da Vinci's painting during a visit to the Louvre. Santana continues to inspire the same reaction at shows by the current incarnation of the band that bears his name. His team of first-tier players includes drummer Cindy Blackman Santana (Lenny Kravitz, Pharoah Sanders), bassist Benny Rietveld (Miles Davis, Sheila E.), keyboardist David K. Mathews (Tower of Power, Etta James), and percussionist Karl Perazzo (Mariah Carey, Tito Puente).
Santana on Tour
Grammy Award-winning, legendary artists Carlos Santana and Earth, Wind & Fire embark on a North American tour. A continuation of 2019's Supernatural Now tour for Santana, the Miraculous Supernatural 2020 Tour marks the first time these two powerhouses share the stage in the U.S. The Live Nation-produced outing kicks off June 19th in San Diego and makes stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Toronto, and more before wrapping August 29th in Tampa.
Santana, and his band (which also features Santana's wife, Cindy Blackman Santana) highlight songs from both his Supernatural and Woodstock eras, as well as newer tracks from his 2019 full-length album Africa Speaks and some incredible surprises. Earth, Wind & Fire is one of music's most celebrated musical forces in history with an iconic music catalog that has been the soundtrack of millions of lives around the world.
In 2019, Santana celebrated the 20th anniversary of his revolutionary, multiple Grammy Award-wining album Supernatural, along with the 50th anniversary of his Woodstock performance. Santana's 1999 album Supernatural featured the back-to-back No. 1 singles "Smooth" and "Maria Maria" and sold over 30 million copies worldwide, topping the charts in over a dozen countries and sweeping the 2000 Grammy Awards.

We had a BLAST! It was an awesome show! Santana performed amazingly!
At the Santana concert it rained and was cold but as his performance was well worth all the bad weather he was awsum The actual amphitheater was horrible.Restrooms were put way down at the bottom of the hill. The chairs were ridiculously priced. So high for the business that we give the amputator You would think that they'd have a little more consideration for the public who pay money to see the concerts at their property bring more restroum's lower the prices for renting the chairs other than that Santana performed awesome.
We went to the show at Majestic Theatre last week and had a blast. I got to see my favorite song Smooth and it made my night. We sat in the lower level on the side and it was the perfect view!
It was an amazing experience with my dad, family and friends
The music was excellent. However, Carlos Santana is aging and has chronic back pain. So he sat and played guitar much of the time. His band was absolutely magnificent. I hate to say this but in my opinion they carried him somewhat. Not to say he didn't play well but it seemed rather mechanical in that the emotional connection to his music was lacking as was his energy and drive. Aside from the music, the most enjoyable part involved the three large screens on which they showed Carlos playing when he was much younger. All that being said, it was a miserable, horrible experience. It was an outdoor venue and it was unexpectedly cold, windy and raining the whole time. We were not well prepared and got soaked to the skin. The only way to ease the misery was with shots of whiskey from the bar. We missed the last 45 minutes of the show because we couldn't take it anymore. So the best part of the evening was getting into the nice warm, dry Uber car for the ride home.
Seeing Santana again was an unforgettable experience. Despite the cold and rainy weather, his guitar playing was as incredible as ever—his music made us forget the chill and lose ourselves in the music.
For 50 years, I've never seen Santana put on a bad show. He's amazing.
Santana, along with only a very few other musicians, gets better with age. The concert was so uplifting and Carlos, along with his band were captivating and electric. He was always one of the greats but I must say again, he is UP there and just gets better and better.
I can only imagine seeing a younger Santana but so worth seeing him even now. Great set list and lighting effects.
It sprinkled most of the concert. Entertainers were protected from weather. Concert goers not so much. Santana was doing great going thru song after song with no breaks and then he starts in with all his Kumbaya speeches which forced all concert goers to sit in the rain longer. Just added to the miserableness due to the weather. Noting, the weather was not his fault.
