KAYTRANADA IN CONCERT:

Ever since his 2010 debut, visionary DJ and producer Kaytranada has been blowing up dance floors around the world with his epic remixes and pulse-pounding original tracks. At his live sets Kaytranada dances behind the decks with infectious energy, hyping up the crowd with his slick moves while he drops his hard-hitting blend of futuristic trap, R&B, and EDM. He's remixed music by everyone from Azealia Banks and Beyonce to Janet Jackson and Fugees, and his live shows take ticket buyers on a whirlwind tour through a wildly diverse sonic landscape. Whether he's dropping the beat on originals like "Leave Me Alone" or getting fans dancing with one of his acclaimed reworks, Kaytranada always keeps the energy high and the bass low at his party-worthy live performances. 

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Haitian-born, Montreal-raised Kaytranada, aka Louis Kevin Celestin, began to DJ at age 14 and started producing the following year after his brother introduced him to music software. He made his debut in 2010 under the moniker Kaytradamus, releasing an impressive string of albums under that alias before renaming himself Kaytranada in 2013 and dropping the album Kaytra Todo. Since then his hip hop-influenced productions and remixes have made him a fixture on the global club circuit, with performances in more than 50 cities around the world. In addition to his own tracks Kaytranada has produced for a growing list of up-and-coming artists that includes Kali Uchis, Freddie Gibbs, and Mick Jenkins. With his cutting-edge sound and energetic live sets, Kaytranada brings an unforgettable dance party to ticket buyers every time he hits the road on tour.

    Kaytranada put on a great show! Unfortunately it was at an outdoor venue (with bad parking) so there was nothing but general admission, which ruined the experience since people these days don’t know how to act at concerts and be considerate of the people around them. The crowd was also barely dancing and even kaytranada was bothered by that lol. Seeing him in 2021 was a much better experience due to a smaller crowd at a smaller venue.

    The show was great! Production/ lighting was phenomenal. However, ingress was a mess. BMO has a clear bag policy that was not communicated effectively. People had to buy a clear bag last minute from street vendors capitalizing on the opportunity or check their bag, resulting in very long lines that were backed up and not queued efficiently.

    Best concert of my life. Super healing. The energy from the stage was so radiant you felt it from where you’re seating no matter how far you are. Speaking of seating, I do wish the stage was closer because it was VERY far away than anticipated and we were not even in nosebleeds.

    The music was great and the stuff was amazing and thoughtful. I knew this was gonna be outdoors and I should’ve prepared better because I’m immune compromised. I stayed throughout the whole concert and it was pouring rain and I got very very sick. The set was amazing. There were a few people smoking cigarettes around me, and that was kind of gross.

    Kaytranda was on point! Played a good amount of songs from the new album and his classic remixes. I also enjoyed the opening act’s especially Channel Tres!

    Honestly this show was better music wise than the last time I saw kaytranad. The venue was not it, the lines to get in were very unorganized and I definitely do not like how the GA section was not assigned seats. I feel like he should have just had all of GA be in the pit bc his pit was half empty.
