About

The members of O.A.R. first came together in Rockville, Maryland in the basement of drummer Chris Culos' childhood home.  As a young group of musicians, they were the prototype of the modern, self-starting band--taking charge of their fate by working the internet and building an identifiable sound.  The band's music, a rock/reggae fusion, consisted of songs that were fully accessible, yet teasingly elusive.  Attracting fans all across the country, the band members toured relentlessly, pushing their album sales through boundless dedication and word-of-mouth appeal, never waiting for the industry to catch up.

By the time the band had reached their 10 year anniversary together, they had sold over 1.2 million albums and performed in front of over 1 million people.  Their most recent studio record, Stories of a Stranger, produced radio favorites "Love and Memories" and "Heard the World" as well as mtvU's Most Downloaded Video of 2006, "Lay Down."  The band followed up the successful release with a live double disc CD and DVD set, Live From Madison Square Garden, recorded during the band's second sold-out performance at the prestigious arena.

Earlier this year, the band holed themselves up in a studio in Los Angeles to work on their next project, All Sides.  The album, due out July 15th, is certain to be yet another milestone in O.A.R.'s storied career.

  • A landmark event

by OSUBuckeye on 6/1/25Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

It was a magic, nostalgic experience. O.A.R.’s first two albums were played in full, a feat that is likely to never occur again. The crowd matched the bands amazing performance, singing word for word for even the deep cuts. Time travel isn’t possible, but on this night we were all transported back to 2002. O.A.R. Must release this as an album!

This was my first time seeing OAR live. I have been to countless concerts in my life and this show ranked near the top of my all-time list. They played for almost 2.5 hours and the performance they put on was outstanding. The energy that each band member provided was unmatched. The Brooklyn Bowl was an amazing venue as well. I will 10000% be seeing them again. I have been listening to them on repeat since the show ended.

  • O.A.R. At the Brooklyn Bowl

O.A.R. Never disappoints, their live shows are so fun and this trip down memory lane to the early stuff was amazing. Flew to Vegas just for this show. Great venue, lots of opportunities for a good view. I would absolutely do it again. Tickets were affordable and drinks were on par for what drinks are in Vegas. Bag check was quick and easy as was entry with the staff prescanning the line.

OAR played their first two albums plus Love and Memories, Shattered, and Heaven. Wonderful to hear the deep cuts like Landalay, Zion may I as an example. The band is great and live they are fantastic.

  • Great show!

As usual, Marc and O.A.R. brought their upbeat, positive energy. It was the last night of their tour and they really killed it. I’ve seen them at least 10 times and this was one of the best. Set list was great, although I wished they played “So Moved On”. Can’t wait to see them again next year in St.Augustine.
