Ray Benson and the boys of Asleep at the Wheel did not disappoint in Charleston, SC on April 19, 2025. They played nothing but hits all evening. The music was great. Ray's voice, for being the last stop of a recent tour, sounded perfect. Cant wait to see them again the next time they come to town- or I go to Austin.

Enjoyed seeing Ray Benson. Put a smile on our faces all evening.

  • Great concert and venue

Ray Benson’s voice still holds up 55 years later unlike some of his contemporaries. Seeing them in a small theatre enhanced the experience.

  • A great concert with a weird audience

by Lamick on 4/19/25Gas South Theater - DuluthRating: 5 out of 5

Asleep at the Wheel gave a great performance. The musicians were spot on with their playing and singing. The song set was good too. A little of everything. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. What was weird was the audience. I heard one guy say before the doors opened “this group plays all big band stuff”. Uh, no they don’t—not even close. There were cowboy hats in the audience, so somewhat more familiar, I guess. Some people got up and left early. Must have been past their bedtime. All in all, I was embarrassed to be in that audience group. Give me more hootin’ and hollerin’ and a lot less 70 year old plus subscription audience.

I have several Asleep at the Wheel cds but had never seen them in person. It was a great evening and the theater was a perfect size for this show

I moved from Austin but still mis alll the great opportunities I had for live music there. No matter who's in Austin, Asleep at the Wheel is still the king! Great show. Thank you..I needed that.

  • Excellent, as always!

by Too Much on 4/13/25The Walker Theatre - ChattanoogaRating: 5 out of 5

Ray and the band used to play pretty regularly at the Midnight Rodeo in San Antonio in the late 80's and 90's and would be there for every show! So, since it's been at least 35 years since I have seen them, I was impressed that Ray hasn't lost any of his strong voice and still hit's every note! Of course, the band has changed a lot, but the young guys were getting after it! Great show, just sad that we couldn't dance!

  • As good as ever!!

Love, love, love Asleep At The Wheel!! They never disappoint. Amazing talent. I see the same show again if I have the chance before the tour ends. ❤️❤️❤️

  • Great show

They were awesome. The last time I saw them was in 1979 or 80ish in Greeley Colorado. That Ray can still sing like a 30 year old. It was a very fun show!
