About

The Heavy Heavy is a band from Brighton, UK, led by Will Turner and Georgie Fuller. They resurrect the music the sixties forgot with bombastic soul and reverberant harmonies. • The Heavy Heavy World Dominance Part II

    by Mister I on 6/17/25The Atlantis - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

It's worth noting these additional things about The Heavy Heavy's fantastic show on 6/13/25 at The Atlantis in Washington DC: -I don't live in D.C. Or anywhere near there. I came up from.St. Augustine, Florida for the show. So, if you're affiliated with the band and see my praise for the show, please tell them to make things easier on me 😀 and please come to St. Aug - or at least Jacksonville or Ponte Vedra -Opening act Judy Bland was a real bright spot, a crowd pleaser. She had everyone enraptured as she delivered a spirited 35 minute set with just her and a guitar - and a damn fine stable of expertly crafted pop/folk/rock tunes that would crush even more with a full band. She told a great story of how she stumbled upon The Heavy Heavy as a fan, got a chance to hang with them and bond as peers, leading to her performing with them several times.

  • The "Heavy Heavy"Ready For World Domination

    by Mister I on 6/17/25The Atlantis - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Friday the 13th (6/13/25) delivered nothing but good luck and great vibes to a near sellout crowd at Washington DC's "Atlantis"as The Heavy Heavy filled the club with their unique and endearing sounds. If you've somehow missed this Brighton, U.K. five-piece since their debut nearly five years ago, it's not for a lack of effort on their part, as they've hit nearly every corner of the USA and Europe with almost non-stop touring. The "Atlantis"show was a brief one-off, as they've been opening for The Black Keys for a few months, part of The Heavy Heavy's weighty tour schedule since the release of their tremendous lp "One Of A Kind"in 2024. In short, the D.C. show was devastatingly infectuous, with the band playing nearly everything in their catalog, including juicy versions of their latest singles, "Cherry,"and "Happiness"which had nearly everyone in the club singing along with every word. Same thing with earlier hits (from 2022) "Miles And Miles"and my particular favorite "Go Down River."It seemed more than half of the crowd, like me, knew every word to every song, and those who didn't will likely immediately dive into the band's limited, but rich catalog and immerse themselves full asap. Perhaps Will Turner and Georgie Fuller (the main cogs of the band) found a time machine, visited 1977's Laurel Canyon, stopped briefly in London mid 1966, then made a quick pit stop to Brooklyn in 2007 to create their musical "vibe,"and if so, no one else seems to have taken that same journey, nor have they been able match The Heavy Heavy's same harvest. Every song they've produced seems capable of topping the charts in any of those eras. No doubt the world singing along en masse with Heavy Heavy tunes the next few decades is an inevitability. Count on it. Fabulous show. Fabulous band. Get onboard The Heavy Heavy bandwagon now! It's gonna get wonderfully crowded very soon!!

  • Best Small Venue Concert Ever!

by Gary on 6/17/25The Atlantis - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The Atlantis was a great space for The Heavy Heavy and the concert was amazing! Great sound, and able to get close to the stage. THH brought incredible harmonies and energy and played everything a fan would want to hear. They stayed after to talk with fans and sign merchandise. Look forward to seeing them again!

The Heavy Heavy is one of the most amazing new bands I've seen recently. They are very accomplished musicians, their songs are catchy yet sophisticated, and they have a wonderful rapport with the audience as well as with each other. Don't miss them if they come to your area.

by Mark on 4/30/23Brooklyn Made - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

It’s the second time I’ve seen the Heavy Heavy and would not miss them any time they’re back in town. Outstanding band - tight and total pros. And they always take time to hang with the fans after the shows. Never been to Brooklyn Made before this show but we loved it. In the middle of absolutely nowhere but well worth the trip. Great sight lines and kick ass beer selection.
