About

Djo - the musical project of actor / producer / songwriter Joe Keery known for his work in blockbuster projects as Stranger Things and Fargo - announces his highly anticipated new album The Crux. The follow-up to Djo's 2022 album DECIDE, which featured the blockbuster hit "End of Beginning," The Crux will be released on April 4th on AWAL. Djo has also announced a major 2025 global tour. The Djo - Back On You Tour will feature Post Animal as support on all North American, UK and EU tour dates.

The Crux was co-produced by Keery and his long-time collaborator Adam Thein. It's an album of impeccable craftsmanship. Unlike Keery's previous albums - bedroom recordings centered around synths - The Crux spotlights lush guitars and instrumentation reminiscent of late 60's and 70's pop. It's an album full of loss and yearning, but also one full of wit and gratitude. The album was written all over the world in a particularly fertile period for Keery - where he was grappling with the transience of his other job, being untethered and away from his friends and family. But to make the album he settled into the legendary Electric Lady Studios in his adopted home of New York City. The Crux not only showcases his ambitious scope, but also his skills as a deft multi-instrumentalist and songwriter (all songs were written by Keery or in collaboration with Adam Thein).

The first single "Basic Being Basic," with Oberheim OB-X8 synths and falsetto refrain, has its final verses shrewdly skewer the (often online) tropes of modern day posturing. "It's kind of a shot fired to anyone who's trying to be of the moment," says Keery. Listen to the song HERE.

Incredible show! VIP experience was well organized, and I was very satisfied with the VIP merch. DJO is an AMAZING performer, and the crowd had such a wonderful energy. I can’t wait to see him in concert again! 1000/10 experience

  • OMGGGG

by Jordan on 5/5/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

honestly one of the best concerts i've seen in a while. he sounds exactly the same on stage, and the acoustics in The Anthem were 11/10

  • Overall, a good concert

    by music_enjoyer on 5/4/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I liked the show. I think that Post Animal was mixed poorly, but I could still tell that their music was good. Djo was a good performer, but I think the lighting throughout the show made it hard to see anyone on stage. The music was good, and that’s what I was there for. Overall, I’d call it a good concert, but there is room for improvement in the future.

  • Best night of my life

by Sage on 5/4/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Djo and Post Animal put on an incredible show. I will never ever forget it! I’m still watching my videos and smiling like an idiot just remembering how great it was ❤️

  • AMAZING SHOW

by reagan on 5/4/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I decided to buy last minute tickets to the concert and couldn’t be happier I did. I love DJO’s music but the songs are even better in person! He is incredibly engaging with the crowd, funny, and you could tell the microphone was on. You could also tell that he and his bandmates were each very passionate about the music, which made it incredibly fun to watch. Overall, this was definitely the best concert I’ve ever been too and I hope to be back soon!

  • Djo at The Anthem, DC

by Fancy Clancy |-/ on 5/4/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Djo put on a fun and dynamic performance. His voice sounds great live and you can definitely tell he has slowly grown more and more confident with each show. Now this is completely separate from Djo’s performance, but The Anthem was not the best venue. Per usual, the venue packed in way too many people and so there was a lot of pushing/shoving and people fainting from the lack of adequate AC.

  • So much fun

by Matt on 5/2/25History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

I love Djo’s music so much and he did not disappoint, this is one of the most fun nights I’ve had in a long time and I’m so happy we all got to see him perform live

  • Great show!

by Sosso on 5/2/25History - TorontoRating: 5 out of 5

Djo was great! He can really sing lol no bad surprises. Been checking his website for 2 years waiting for him to come on tour and was so happy when I saw he was coming to Toronto. Did popular older songs as well as many from his new album which I love. Nice light show throughout. Really had a great evening. Post Animal was opening the show, they were a great discovery.

  • One of the best concerts I've been to

by Geriatric millennial on 4/28/25The Sylvee - MadisonRating: 5 out of 5

I've been going to concerts for over 20 years, and this was by far one of the better ones I've been to. I took my 20 year old sister and my 14 year old daughter, since we've been singing Djo in the car together for over 3 years and have been patiently waiting for him to go on tour. We are from St Louis, and Madison was the closest location he was coming to. It was worth the 6 hour drive. I just hate that there was a "quick pass"- it's not fair to those of us who spent hours waiting to try and get a good spot on the floor. But it is what it is. If I would have know the quick pass was an option I would have bought it, even though that kind of takes away from the old fashion concert going experience. Check Djo and Post Animal out, they will not disappoint you! One of the best openers I've ever seen as well! I def a fan of Post Animal now!
