Jorja Smith In Concert

Jorja Smith is a soul visionary with an eye on the past — and her collaborations with megastars like Drake and kindred spirits like grime hitmaker Stormzy show how she's able to hold her own amid even the brightest starpower. The British singer gained international acclaim with her 2016 debut single "Blue Lights," an icy broadside against institutional racism that showcased her brooding vocals and penchant for politically charged lyrics. Her next release, the bereft yet strutting "Where Did I Go?," received a co-sign from Drake as it racked up plays on streaming services around the world. Later that year, Smith included those songs on her debut EP Project 11, a critical smash that helped land her on BBC Music's Sound of 2017 list.

Smith took off in 2017, appearing on Drake's mixtape More Life and touring alongside the Canadian MC on his Boy Meets World tour. She also opened for Bruno Mars on the fall 2017 leg of his 24K Magic World Tour, and followed that up by being named the recipient of the Critics' Choice Award at the BRIT Awards — another signal that her retro-tinged, confident version of soul was seen as integral to pop music's coming eras.

Smith continued her collaborative ways through 2018, enlisting Stormzy for her swirling ballad "Let Me Down" and hopping on a remix of American soul crooner Khalid's "Location"; she also took center stage on "I Am," a woozy track on the Kendrick Lamar-curated soundtrack to Black Panther. Lost & Found, Smith's debut full-length, showcased her love of jazz, hip-hop, classic soul, and cutting-edge music as well as her heartfelt lyrics. It debuted at No. 3 on the U.K. album charts after its June release, and inspired critical raves from around the world. Smith spent 2018 promoting Lost & Found and headlining a tour, and in 2019 she'll be playing festivals across Oceania, South America, and Europe.

  • Seats were good except..

by TW on 4/2/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I called and spoke to someone at the venue to get a better idea of the seats and ensure I purchased good seats. Ended up purchasing tickets on the second level in the box seats. I was interested in aisle seats, but upon arrival, saw that the seats were up against a fence like thing and not aisle seats at all. So just fyi, be sure to clarify if you’re concerned about that. Also, I was told that the seats were staggered so the row in front wouldn’t block the view. That is unless you’re sitting behind someone with big hair or a hat, which I was. The hair was smack dab blocking the center of the stage so that was very disruptive.

  • Jorja Smith in DC

by Nevah on 3/18/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Her voice is amazing, sounds like her recordings. I will say the set playlist could have been mixed up because all of her slow ballads were in the beginning and her upbeat songs were at the end. At one point I was getting sleepy listening to the slow songs back to back. Especially since it was weekday evening concert. Also, Jorja could use some assistance with stage presence. She really relies on her vocals. But engaging with the crowd, or dancing could help have her fans with her the whole performance.

  • Love it

by Ritch on 3/16/25The Anthem - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Jorja gave a stunning performance and it was lovely to be introduced to Maverick Sabre as well. Jorja invoked very strong emotions during her performance and kept us quite enthralled throughout. Glad I made the decision to go!

  • A Beautiful evening

by Smoo Daddy on 3/14/25Brooklyn Paramount - BrooklynRating: 4 out of 5

Yes it was nice, Maverick Saber was surprisngly strong and entertaining although he did not perform the song which he is known for - the one which I love, and the one which everyone loves "I Need" Jorja was great, her full vocal range on show and here versatility through the genres brought the vibes as the gig ebbed and flowed. It is true that I had to sit down because my knee was sore but generally, speaking great evening all round.

  • Jorja doesnt disappoint

    by Jenn G on 3/13/25Brooklyn Paramount - BrooklynRating: 5 out of 5

Jorja was great. She sounded great (brooklyn paramount is a great venue). She had a great band as well as backup singers who were spot on. She did a lot of her music, new and old! I love that she walked back and forth across the stage so i could see her while enjoying her music bc it is standing room only and I am not tall. She wore a MY Yankees navy blue Tshirt representing Ny, which was cool. She performed a solid hour and i believe 45 minutes and engaged the crowd without much talking. If you are a fan of her music, it is worth hearing her live.

  • Magical night with wonderful performance

We absolutely loved Jorja’s live performance - magnificent singer with a superb band. Brooklyn Paramount was the perfect venue for this - great stage lighting which added value to the experience. Staff was also very forthcoming. Walked back home very pleased.
